Bad Day
Today while I was at my eye doctor appointment I received a call from Emma's school. I just knew right then that it could not be good. They told me that Emma had been crying hysterically since I dropped her off. So for a good solid hour and half my child could not be consoled. After my appointment I had to go pick her up early from school and she was so mad when I got there. I think she just looked at me and thought, why do you keep doing this to me?! We are not ready to give up on school but we certainly need to figure something out. Next week I am going to bring in a few of her favorite toys and I hope that works. We will see!

Snuzzle Bunny
Since it has been cold and rainy we have been doing alot of snuzzling at home to stay warm, especially in the morning. Emma's new favorite thing is climbing into our bed and snuzzling with us in the morning. It is so nice b/c I can grab a few extra minutes of sleep.

Loving her snuzzle time in her parents bed.

Playing peek-a-boo with mom.

Just relaxing!
Maybe she is ready for a big girl bed!

A Future Gymnast
Today I took Emma to an open gymnastics class (basically there is no instruction and the kids get to do what they want). I wanted to see what she thought of all the activities before I ever commit her to a structured class. Emma fell in love with the place. Her favorite activity was running on the long trampoline and walking on the balance beams. It was very cute watching her figure everything out. I had a hard time getting pictures b/c I needed to be with her at all times but here are a few action shots from today.

I cannot wait to take her back. Oh the excitement!!

A New Slide
When we were in New Jersey, Andy's parents had a slide set up in their family room that Emma feel in love with. Since we were not able to pack it up and bring it home with us we decided to go to Toys R Us and buy one for Emma. We are debating about it b/c there are many choices for slides. So you will have to let us know what you think. Is it a keeper?

I think she likes it!!

First Day of School
Today was Emma's first day of school. It went better then expected but it was hard on the both of us (meaning Emma and me). I find it very hard leaving Emma with other people, especially when I do not know them that well. Don't get me wrong the teachers are very nice and have tons of experince but they do not have experience with my child.
When we got to the school, Emma put on her sad face which made me sad. What was even harder is when we got to the door to the classroom she started to cry. I had to fight to hold back my tears. The teacher was very nice and comforting and Emma took to her right away so that made it easier. I had to quickly drop off her backpack and lunchbox before there were any more break downs.
After I left I went to Target and it was weird not having Emma with me. I saw all the other moms with their babies and it was making me want mine. When I went home I was not sure what to do with myself. I am sure all that will change once I get use to it.
Finally it was time to go pick up Emma and if you know me then you know I was early. The teacher said Emma did great. She slept a little in the teacher's arms and then perked up after that. She enjoyed music time and play time and was a champion eater. I was very happy to hear she had a great time.

I am ready for school Mom.

I am not too sure about this place.

Check out the backpack. It is as big as Emma.

Come on Emma, your classroom is this way.

Jersey Trip
For the past week we have been in New Jersey visiting Andy's family. It was wonderful watching Emma create memories with her grandparents and to have a break from the heat. Enjoy the many pictures below from our trip.

This was our first trip where Emma officially had her own seat. It was very nice to have the extra space, escpecially considering the flight is three hours from Dallas.

Welcome to Jersey (well the Philly airport)!!

While playing at a local toy shop downtown, Emma became a butterfly!

Swinging in the backyard. Oh the weather was so great!!

Swinging at the park. I love that I had to put a jacket on Emma.

Emma was in love with her grandpa's piano. She enjoyed playing and listening to her grandpa play.

Our tour of zoo's continues. The Philadelphia Zoo is the third zoo Emma has visited in the past year.

Emma's favorite part of the zoo was the children's zoo where she got to feed the ducks.

Emma learning how to brush a goat.

More swinging in the backyard.

While visiting we went to a local apple orchard where they had a ton of tractors. Emma really took to the tractors. Maybe she has a little cowgirl in her.

This tractor is more her size.

Emma on her third tractor of the day.

Four generations!! I love capturing these when I can.

Instead of flying home we decided to pack Emma up. So when we got home we had a wonderful package on our door step!! (Just kidding)
