Memorial Weekend Wrap-up

Our Memorial Weekend was a fun weekend spent enjoying our town. We did not want to make any big plans b/c Andy was on call for the weekend and had to work at times. We enjoyed a picnic lunch, so time at the pool, and a choo-choo ride at Zilker. It was a nice way to spend time together.

I downloaded a new photo app for my phone, so some photos might appear different.

Emma in the car and ready to go. She is wondering why she has to have her picture taken. I was looking for a model for my new photo app.

A smile!!

Our first visit to the pool. I tried hard to get a photo of the two of them looking but you know how that goes.

Abby loved her first pool experience. Can't wait to take her again!
Once again someone was wondering why she had to have her picture taken.

We hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend!

Splash Day

On Thursday, Emma's class had a splash day. Emma had a blast running around in the sprinklers and going down the water slide. It was a perfect way to spend a school day.

Emma's First Field Trip

On Monday, Emma's class took a field trip to Open My World, a therapeutic riding center. I was so excited to tag along and watch Emma take part in one my favorite school activities. I mean, who doesn't love a field trip! To start the trip off, Emma got to ride on a bus. She has never been on one so she was super excited. Once she was on the bus she was slightly scared but her teacher helped comfort her. I wish I could have seen her on the bus but no parents allowed. I enjoyed a quiet ride in my car with my choice of music.

Can you find Emma in this picture. She is the one raising her hands to the sky. The girl was excited!
Heading towards the bus.
One last look at mom to make sure this is ok.

Once we were at the riding center, the class was split into two groups. Emma's group started with the little petting area, where they got to feed the goats and brush the mule.

Brush, brush. Emma loved the activity.

Then she got to pet a bunny
and walk the pony.

Taking a walk around the riding center.

The next big activity was riding a horse. I wasn't sure Emma would be up for this, especially since she was so against it at the Rodeo. After a little convincing and a slight nudge from me, she hopped on and LOVED it.

After all the fun, the kids settled down by learning how to draw a horse. I think Emma's turned out pretty good.
It was such a great field trip and I was so happy to go. Hopefully there will be more field trips in the future. I just think it is a great way to bring the classroom outside.

Austin Zoo

On Sunday, we took Emma on a trip to the Austin Zoo. We thought she would have a great time spending time with just us and riding the train. The train was all she really cared about. She was so happy while riding it. As for the animals, she was not as interested. She did have such a good time that she fell right to sleep when we got in the car.

Our arrival.

On the choo-choo

The zoo had chickens running around so Andy was trying to get Emma to act like one.

Picnic Dinner

On Friday night we decided to change things up a bit with dinner and have a picnic dinner. Emma got to pick a movie to watch and we put down some towels and enjoyed our dinner in the living room. It was such a fun treat and an easy way to get Emma to eat her dinner. We might have to do it more often.

My Little Cowgirl

The other day, when my parents watched the kids, my dad thought it would be fun to take pictures of Abby in his cowboy hat. I think she makes a super cute cowgirl!
