In loving memory of Grandma Wicker

I am sad to say that last week we lost my Grandma Wicker to a 4 year battle with cancer. It was very heart breaking losing her. She was a wonderful grandmother that I was very close with. As a child I would go to Minnesota and spend the whole summer with her. We have the best memories and I thank her for them. I know that she is now in heaven watching over us but she is going to be missed forever. I love you grandma!!

A Day of Firsts

This weekend we went to Stride Rite and Emma got her first pair of walking shoes! Thanks Grandma!!

The choices!

Emma trying on her first pair.

She had to take them for a test run!

I think I will go with these and one other pair.

Also, this weekend we celebrated Henrik's 1st birhtday! It was another great party!!

Cookie Day!

Emma is 15 months old today and in celebration of her 15 month birthday I made some delicious chocolate chip cookies. Yum!!
Now when we went to the doctor for her well check the doctor recommended more fruits and veggies. This is all fine and dandy but eating fruits and veggies is not going to get Emma up to 20 pounds so we can turn the car seat around to face the front. So I am going for more fat and what better way to gain weight then eating some delectable cookies!
(For all of you worried out there that Emma will not be getting adequate nutrition because I am serving her cookies, please note that I do serve her plenty of nutritional things and the cookies are a once in a blue moon treat.)

How could you deny this child the joy of a cookie!?!

Celebrations!!

Over the weekend we celebrated Kenzie's 1st birthday! It is hard to believe that all the kids are turning one. I can still remember when we started our playgroup and they were all little babies!

On Monday, Alex had some of the girls over for a playdate to celebrate St. Patty's day. All the girls enjoyed playing with Alex's walking toys. It was very cute watching the kids move around. Are they really becoming mobile? It is getting difficult to converse during playdates b/c our attention has to be on the kids at all times. Oh how the times are changing!

Kenzie trying a birthday cupcake. Yum!

Emma and Mya at the party. So cute!

What a good looking family! Sorry I have to brag.

Emma and Alex at the playdate. Thanks Alex for looking! Emma did not care to cooperate.

Speedy Gonzales!

Emma has been walking up a storm lately. She has even taken a few steps on her very own!! Here is some video of her walking with her push wagon. Sorry for the shaky camera work, but it is hard managing the camera and her walking at the same time. She just moves too fast. Enjoy!

Miss Socialite

Emma has been very busy socializing with her neighborhood friends. We started the weekend off with our monthly family happy hour and then celebrated Olivia's 2nd birthday. It was a very busy weekend and this time change has thrown us way off schedule. I wonder if the government could do away with it?

Emma busy walking at happy hour. She did not care to look up for a picture.

Emma loved the slide in Olivia's backyard. It was hard getting her off of it so other kids could have a turn. I guess we know what to buy her next.

Emma and me with Dora! It was such an honor to meet her.

Emma sporting her new sunglasses that she received in her party goody bag. They are very stylish.

All the Pretty Ladies!

Today we hosted playgroup and all the cute little ladies came over (we missed our little guys, Alex and Henrik!). We got to use our upstairs playroom for the first time. It is a better space for all us now that the kids are more mobile. I look forward to making more use out of that huge room.

Emma was ready for her picture! She loves putting on a hug smile whenever the camera is on her.

All the moms tried very hard to get a picture of the girls. It was a team effort to get one where they all stayed in place and smiled. Good job ladies!!

It's a bird, it's a plane...

It's a one eye cyclops

Yesterday we went to the Kite Festival downtown. Emma enjoyed looking at all the kites and Andy tried to master the art of flying a kite.
