Thanksgiving Fun

For this year's Thanksgiving my brother and his family came to visit. We had such a wonderful time together. There will be a few more blog posts with all the fun activities we did. We were just thankful to be together as a family. There is nothing better than that. I am already counting down the months until we get to see them again.

To kick off Thanksgiving, we created a thankful tree (thanks Kristen G. for the idea). Here is Emma's tree with all her leaves.

On Thanksgiving morning we headed down to the Turkey Trot to stay true to our tradition. This was Abby's first year to participate. She slept the whole way through. =)
This year we did pretty well with our run, especially since it was the first time I ran since having Abby. This was the last race I ran before getting pregnant with Abby.

My like cutie pie!!

Abigail Marian's Baptism

This afternoon we had Abigail Marian's baptism. It was a beautiful ceremony with just our family. I love that both my girls have been baptized in the church where I grew up and received my first communion. We are blessed with our little ones and are thankful to be sharing them with God. They are truly the greatest gift I have been blessed with along with the love of my husband.

My little darling! Oh my gosh I just think she is so darn cute!!

A family picture. Emma was on the verge of falling asleep. She slept through the whole baptism. Thanks Gammie for holding her.

Emma wearing the same dress at her baptism. I am so excited to be able to start a tradition with this dress. I hope one day their children will wear this dress.

Me and my cutie pie!!

Abby getting baptized with holy water. She was not a fan of the water on her head.

Abby's godparents (my brother Nate and sister-in-law Rebecca) lighting the baptismal candle.

A picture with Father Larry. We thank him for blessing us with a private ceremony.

After the baptism, we had a celebration dinner. All Emma wanted was the cupcakes I made for the celebration. It is hard to see, but she is biting the cupcake carrier. I guess she thought it would taste like cupcake.

Cousins!!

We are so excited to have our family in town for Thanksgiving. I just love that my girls have cousins close in age. This is not something I had growing up, so it is very important to me to have these kids be close and create special memories. We love our cousin Kate and cousin Nolan!!

My Little Turkey

For the past few weeks, Emma has been attending school at our neighborhood elementary school. They have a program designed for kids that have delays. She has been going to be observed by a few specialists to see if she qualifies for the program. I was nervous sending her there for a few reasons. First being I did not think she would like it, especially since it is everyday for 4 hours. Second, I was worried that she would fall behind her peers instead of catching up. Well to my surprise I was wrong. From day one Emma has just been in love with this school. She does not even cry when we leave her. I am so proud of her!! Emma loves her teachers and classmates and all the activities they have to offer. She is a class favorite among the 4 year old girls. They just want to be her bff. I think it is b/c she is so darn cute!

Emma has been accepted into the program and we couldn't be happier. We want what is best for her and this is the place that can meet her needs better. Also, it is a plus seeing your kid happy about school.

We had a Thanksgiving lunch at the school. Emma had so much fun showing us her classroom. She just loves it there.

Are We Bumbo Ready?

I have mentioned before how I am obsessed with tummy time to try and prevent Abby from getting a flat head. Well I am also obsessed with the bumbo chair to help prevent flat head. Everyday I put her in it for a few minutes but there are times when I think she is not ready for the bumbo. As you can see from the pictures she does not have full control of her head, which can make it uncomfortable to sit in the bumbo. Hopefully soon, though!

She might not be ready but she sure is cute sitting in it.

Abby letting me know her frustration of being in the bumbo.

Bows, bows and more bows

One day after nap time I was putting Emma's hair back up in a ponytail and she decided she wanted as many bows as possible in her hair. So we went all out.

Holiday Shopping

Oh the choices! I wonder what she will be asking from Santa this year? I think she has her eye on a swing set. Do those fit in Santa's sled?!

Who Needs a Bed...

when you can sleep on the floor.

Emma during her nap time. I am lucky if she will sleep during this time. If she does she usually falls asleep on the floor after making a mess out of her room.

Happy 2 Months Abigail Marian!

Our little Abby is already 2 months old! She is just filling our hearts with more and more love everyday. It is a wonderful blessing watching her grow. I get excited as she gets older so that I can learn more and more about her. I am very curious to see what type of person she is going to be. I am sure once she is 6 months old I am going to be wanting the growing to slow down and will just want her to be a baby forever, but for now it is just so fun to see all the changes.
