First Day of School Redo

Emma had her first day of school today at her new school. We decided to change schools because her original school only had two girls out of 13 kids in it. Emma spent the first part of the day as the only girl and then the second part of her day she was with one other girl. Andy and I really did not like the uneven balance of the classroom. Emma thrives on attention from older girls, so we knew we needed to make a change. Thankfully the school that is closer to us, that still has ELE, has a program with 4 girls and 2 boys. It was a perfect fit for us and one of the girls is our neighbor. We were slightly nervous about changing her but we are so glad we did. Emma had a great first day and even talked about another girl in the class that likes cars. It is a perfect fit! I also love her new teachers and all the creative ideas they have. I am so excited for Emma's school year and can't wait to see how she develops with her social skills.

Here are few pics of her before going to her classroom. I swear you could not pay this kid to look at the camera. She is too distracted by all the cars and kids. She has some serious people watching skills.

And now the jumping duo

I love how the two of them enjoy playing together. They always want to do what the other is doing.

Good Friends

Our good friends, Victor and Rachel and their son Elias came over for a visit last night. This wonderful couple introduced Andy and me and we are forever grateful for them. They moved to Washington a few years ago, so we were so excited that they came to visit. We miss having them around. Our kids had a blast meeting each other and hanging out. Their son Elias is full of life and Emma could not get enough of it.

A group shot. This is the best one that came out. The rest were blurry.

Emma with Victor and Rachel. She instantly feel in love with them.

I hope three years does not go by before we see our good friends again.

Emma's First Day of School 2011-2012

Emma's new school year started today. She was excited when she woke up and was ready to get out the door to school. Me, on the other hand, had first day jitters of my baby being out of the house and missing a summer of no alarm clocks.

We had to take plenty of pictures of her first day. Lately, when we ask her to smile, she likes to stick her tongue between her teeth. Example below.

Someone loves the curtains.
Even Abby woke up early to help take Emma to school.
Emma practicing her "bubble" face.
So cute!
Ready to cross the street to school.
Outside her classroom. She was busy watching all the kids walk by.
Putting up her backpack. They were going to get their lockers after they picked their symbol. Their symbol goes on their locker. Emma informed us that she picked a red car as her symbol.
Emma quickly found the toys to play with.
My sweet little girl.

Emma said she had a good time at school. She loved playing with one of her teachers, Ms. Amy, and meeting her new friends. Frankie seems to be her favorite b/c that is who she talked about the most. She did get upset at the end of the day when she saw the school bus. She thought she had to ride it home and did not like that. Thankfully, her white chariot plans to arrive everyday.

Fashion Trend

Emma is interested in deciding what she wears these days. Her favorite right now is a tank top with guitars on it and pairing it with either a jean skirt or a tutu. Here is a picture of her with the tutu and guitar shirt. She wanted to hike her tutu as high up as she could get it. Oh, how we love this girl!

A little of this and little of that

Since I have been taking a break from blogging, I have not been good about downloading pictures off my phone onto my computer. I found a bunch of pictures that I would have made single blogs about, but instead I am just creating one big blog post.

A few weeks ago we headed out to the lake to spend time with our friends that have a lake house. Andy and the other guys went wake boarding while us ladies hung out. Here is a picture of Emma overlooking the lake.

To my surprise, Emma decided she wanted to have her nails painted. I was very happy to do it for her. She was very proud of them.

Last week, Andy's work had their annual take your kids to work day. We met up with him and the girls loved spending time with their daddy.
Andy and the girls in front of the super computer. This keeps Andy busy all day.
Andy and the girls in front of the water feature. It was a huge attraction for the kids.

Andy decided to take some pics of a super cute baby with a messy face.

Slowly but surely I will get caught up on my blogging. I want to get caught up before Emma's school starts. I better stay on top of it this weekend.

Blogging Break

If you are a frequent reader of our blog you have probably noticed a decline in the amount of blogging I have been doing. I have taken a small break from blogging so that I can work on Abby's birthday video. When you have over 6,000 photos, it can be very timing consuming making a video.

So to help those that are missing their Emma and Abby here are some photos of them at the grocery store. I know, not very exciting but Emma was in such a loving mood that I needed to grab a shot or two.

Happy 11 Months Abigail Marian

Our sweet little lady is 11 months old. I can't believe that in a month we will be celebrating her first birthday. Time sure does fly when you are having fun!

What are sweet little lady is doing at 11 months:

  • Taking two naps a day but once in awhile will toy with the idea of one nap a day. Mommy prefers two. =)
  • Is doing great taking formula when it is needed. I am sad that soon all breast milk will be done.
  • Does pretty good with table foods but is picky. Abby enjoys bananas, chicken, cheese, grilled cheese, yogurt, black beans, watermelon, pizza, pear, and once in awhile apple. Did you notice that she does not like vegetables. It must run in the family.
  • Is obsessed with walking (with help). She gets very mad if you do not walk with her. She is getting good at pushing toys to help her walk. She will also make her way around the furniture.
  • Got her first pair of walking shoes (another post on that soon).
  • Loves to talk up a storm. Attempts to say hi, banana (which sounds like nana), happy, yeah, and baby (which sounds like ba).
  • Will give kisses if you ask. She loves to kiss with her mouth open so you end up getting wet.
  • Also, can blow you a kiss.
  • Loves to wave and give high fives.
  • Will sign during meal time for more or all done.
  • Gets upset if Emma has something that she does not, like a sippy cup of water.
  • Can pull herself up once in awhile.
  • Loves to be read to, especially books with flaps.
  • Must have her sea horse in the crib when it is sleepy time.
  • Full of life and love. Always has a smile ready, unless you try and take her from her mommy.
