Splish, Splash

This week we had many activities that involved water! I have come to the conclusion that Emma is a little fish. She just loves being in the water. It is very cute! It makes me happy that I signed her up for swim lessons this summer. I think she is going to enjoy it =)

We went to the sprinkler park with Annie and Kenzie. It is starting to get really busy there so I am not sure how often we will be able to go this summer. The older kids do not always watch out where they are going and the last thing I need is Emma getting trampled.

On Friday, Annie and Kenzie came over to our pool. All the girls were enjoying the sprinkler part and the pool part. Annie was even teaching the girls how to jump in. Emma loved that!! It is a great arm workout for me =)

On Saturday, Kenzie came over (her parents had some parties to enjoy) and we decided to have some fun in the front yard. We put out the water table and a sprinkler. I think Kenzie's favorite part was drinking the water from the water table.

Emma loved the sprinkler! It combined two things she likes, a ball and water.

Snack time! Kenzie wanted to help and decided to feed Emma her goldfish. Thanks Kenzie! What an easy child to watch =)

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend was a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Andy not only had off Monday, but the company gave him Friday off as well. Thank you IBM! Emma and I love having him around and I especially enjoy my mornings off.

Over the weekend we had some good friends over to hang out. We were planning on going to the pool with everyone but that got rained out. Oh well we still enjoyed hanging out at home with the group. Then on Sunday, with the continued threat of rain, we decided to enjoy some indoor fun by visiting the Children's Museum. I have to say I was not impressed, especially after going to the one in Denver. The Denver Children's Museum really sets the bar high. Then on Monday we finally made it out to the pool where Emma had a fabulous time! All in all it was a great weekend!

Emma kept dancing for the group on Saturday but I was having a hard time catching it on camera. When I tried to record it she stopped. I thin she knows when the camera is on her.

Emma playing thr drums at the museum.

Emma loved the train track at the museum but she kept throwing the items into the hole that was in the middle. She would then look into the hole to see where the toy went.

Little Buckaroo

Today we went on a field trip with our neighborhood playgroup and the two Kristens to the Little Buckaroo Ranch. On the drive there I was telling Kristen A. that I was not sure if Emma would like it b/c she usually does not care for animals (well dogs b/c that is all she has been exposed to so far). Well once again I am glad that my daughter proved me wrong!! She loved the place. She was even getting mad at me b/c I would not let her touch the horse's bucket of water. I just thought that was slightly gross but maybe I need to loosen up =) Emma was in love with all the animals, the space to explore, and the swings. I am very thankful that she is taking to liking the outdoors since I am an outdoor fan!

Emma getting a horse ride.

Emma trying to get fish kisses. I think she kept scaring the fish off b/c she wanted to splash the water.

On the hayride.

Emma admiring the miniature horse.

Enjoying a morning snack with Kenzie and Annie.

Emma petting the goat. The petting concept was a little tricky. She wanted to pat the goat instead.

Weekend Fun

We kicked off the weekend by having dinner with Emma's grandparents Friday night. It was a good excuse to check out my mom's new car. A shiney silver Volvo. I still am not sure what brought on the urge to buy a new car but if you know my family then you understand. I think that is where I get my car obsession from.

Then on Saturday we celebrated Alex's first birthday! It is hard to believe that everyone in the playgroup is now 1. They were all little babies when we started and now all of us have toddlers on our hands. Amazing!

Later on that day we met up with our good friends, Kristin and Geoff. They are pregnant with their first and we are very excited for them. These two people are amazing friends and I am not sure where I would be without them. So it was great hanging out with them and catching up.

Sprinkler Fun!

Today we went and met up with some friends at the sprinkler park. I was a little nervous that Emma would not like it b/c she is often scared of the shower. To my surprise, Emma was in love with the sprinklers. She could not get enough of them. Every time water would shoot out she would laugh. It was the cutest thing! After an hour I took her out and she was a little upset at first but then warmed up to the idea of not being drenched. I can't wait to go again! Who is in?!

Emma at the beginning of the sprinkler day. Notice her hair is still dry and fluffy.

Checking out the water to make sure it is ok.

I think she likes it!

Emma nice and drenched!

Happy, Happy!

Happy anniversary to my wonderful hubby. Every anniversary I like to reflect on our marriage and all we have been through together as a team. I can remember the days when we had zero responsibility outside of our jobs and now we have more to tend to than the day allows. Oh the direction life takes us. I cannot imagine taking the road with anyone else. The first time I said I love you I thought wow I cannot imagine loving him more but now I realize that I was wrong. I love my husband more and more everyday (I think Brad Paisley wrote a song about this). He would do anything for me and Emma. Even when Emma needed tube feedings in the middle of the night and I was up pumping to make sure she had food (this is before I realized that formula is ok!), Andy would get up and take care of the feedings while I pumped, and he had to go to work the next day. He cared more about me getting rest and Emma getting fed than anything else. He always puts his girls first! Andy has seen my good side, like when we got married but what girl does not look her best on her wedding day, and he has seen my bad side, probably while I was delivery Emma with no drugs. So I think overall I got the best catch. Thanks babe for always loving me through everything and I can't wait to see what the next year brings us! I love you with all my heart now and forever!!

Please enjoy our playlist. We included some songs from our wedding day. Please note Andy and I are not traditional. The first song in the playlist is from our first dance. There was no slow dancing for us! Oh and speaking of not being traditional, Andy and I were married on a Thursday. We thought why not get married during the week. We knew where we wanted to get married and we were not going to wait two years for them to have an opening on the weekend. But something very cool that I found out is that my great grandmother, who Emma is named after, she and my great grandfather got married on a Thursday as well. Too cool!! So now I can say I did it in honor of them =)

Stuck at Home

This week Emma has been under the weather. It started with a fever Monday morning and now we are up to a sore throat, runny nose, and a cough. So we have been home all week except for our trip to the doctor and of course Target. Where would we be without Target?! Anyways, hopefully Emma will shake this cold by the end of the weekend because I am ready to rejoin society. It is not easy being home all week and missing out on our playgroups.

On another note we hope that everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day!

Please go away cold!
