34 Weeks

Today we had our 34th week appointment, even though I am 35 weeks. Everything is sounding great with the heart. Yippee!! Hopefully it will stay that way. Other than that, there is not much to report. We talked about labor and how I am nervous about not making it since I barely did with Emma. She put me at ease and said if I am not dilating but am having true contractions they will not send me home this time. Thank goodness! So we will just see what is in store for us in the next coming weeks. The baby will come when she is ready and we are looking forward to meeting her. =)

Emma's Big Girl Room

We are finally ready to reveal Emma's big girl room. We have actually been done with it for a little while but we have been trying to transition her into it. In our heads we thought she would instantly love sleeping on a bed. It kind of started that way. She was interested but refused to actually fall asleep on the bed. So after trying with bed rails and then putting the mattress on the floor we decided that she just is not ready for a bed and that is ok. We did not want to move her back into her old room since we put all this effort into her new one, so for now her new room has her crib in it. So this is not what her room looks like anymore. It now has a bed and a crib in it. Hopefully by the time the baby needs the crib Emma will be ready to move out, otherwise we will be looking for another crib to add to our collection.

We still need to add in a bookcase and some wall decorations but for now I just think it is adorable.

Zilker Fun!

Saturday morning we decided to have a family day and headed down to Zilker park to play, ride the train, and run through the sprinklers. It was a wonderful time and something we truly needed to do. We have been so wrapped up in many projects around the house and getting things ready for baby #2, that we have not spent much time together as a family. It is soon that we will no longer be a family of three. Crazy! I am just trying to soak up as much Emma time as I can before things change.

Emma looking cute going down the slide.

Out she comes.

Emma and me getting ready to ride the train.

Time for some sprinkler fun!

Hey, where did the water go?!

Ah, the joy of water.

Heart Update

Today I went in for another heart check for baby. During the first round of listening, the nurse detected the irregular heartbeat again. During the second round, when the doctor listened everything was sounding normal again. So it was an ok appointment. I was glad that it was not detected when the doctor listened but still I am uncomfortable with the fact that it is still there. I am trying to stay positive but it is difficult when you have been through a hard time before. Everyone is very reassuring but truth be told that does not help me. I am going to think how I think until we can figure out and solve the problem. Hopefully it is something that she will out grow before she is born. That is what I pray for.

We will go in next Friday for another prenatal visit and we might have to do another ultrasound, but we will see.

Take Your Child to Work Day

Andy's work had Take You Child to Work Day today. Emma and I were very excited to go see him at work and take part in some of the activities. As Emma gets older there will be more for her to do but at least we got to hang out with Andy for the morning.

The Austin Fire Department made an appearance so we had to check out the fire engine.

Emma's favorite activity was driving the fire truck. Papa was very proud when I sent him a pic. Emma of course did not want to leave the truck. I think she thinks Andy works for the fire department.

She would make a cute firewoman.

Emma and Andy participating in the cookie walk. Emma was trying to figure out why she had to walk in a circle to get cookies.

I just thought this was a cute pic at the cookie walk.

Emma enjoying her winnings. We would not let her feed herself b/c I was worried about her getting chocolate on herself. I am very paranoid when it comes to messes.

Jumping across the water. Emma wanted to jump in the water. She did not understand why she could not go in.

We ended the morning with a visit from Shamu. I think IBM was trying to promote their upcoming family day at Sea World.

Thanks IBM for opening your doors to us. We had a blast and look forward to doing it again next year.

Get Up and Jump Around

Andy has been eyeing this trampoline for a few weeks. He knows how much Emma loves to jump and wanted to get her, her own trampoline. At first I was against it b/c I just felt like we did not have the room for it but then one day I noticed how much she needed to burn off some energy and I called Andy and gave in. He immediately went and picked one up for her and was very excited about his gift for his little girl. Emma is in love with this thing. It is all she wants to do. She has even turned down the pool to stay home and jump. One of her favorite things is to have me dance along while she jumps. It is a great workout. =)

Here are some pics of Emma still in her pjs jumping around. It is not easy getting jumping pics. I tried to upload a video but was not having any luck.

We Are Flap Happy

A few years ago, Emma's Yaya (Andy's mom) bought Emma an awesome flaphappy hat. We were able to get two summers out of it but this year her original hat just did not fit anymore. We were thrilled when we checked the mail the other day and found a new flaphappy hat from Yaya. I just love these hats! They are perfect for the pool and they are so cute. Emma is required to wear hers when she is in the sun and having her snack at the pool but I don't think she minds since it is so stylish. Thank you Yaya for our awesome new hat!

A Two Headed Cutie

Emma was so worn out from our 2 1/2 hour trip to the pool, that she just cuddled up to Andy. I just thought this was such a great moment to capture. Thankfully I had my iphone handy b/c I always leave my camera at home.

32 Weeks

Today we went in for our prenatal visit. We were expecting a very routine visit with not much news to report. Well we were wrong! While at the appointment today we had a very heartbreaking experience. While the nurse was listening to the heart it was very obvious that something was not right. I could hear it immediately and so could the nurse. She told us that the baby's heart was having irregular heartbeats. My heart pretty much stopped at that point and there was nothing stopping me from breaking down and crying. The nurse was very sweet and tried to calm us by saying this is very normal and most of the time it fixes itself before the baby is born. I have heard those words before. She then went to get the doctor and she took a listen and said the same thing but that we would go ahead and have an ultrasound appointment and start coming in weekly to monitor the heart. Everyone was trying to be reassuring that this is common and will most likely fix itself. All I could think about was Emma's situation and how we are starting all over again except with our new little joy.

We went into the ultrasound with positive thoughts and we were thrilled to see that everything with the heart still looks great and that sometimes these irregular heartbeats happen. The heart looked beautiful and sounded beautiful when our ultrasound doctor took a look. Thank goodness!! We will still go weekly to listen to the heart but they are not expecting anything to go wrong.

As far as baby Solomon goes, she is growing like crazy. She is already 4lbs. 11oz. So if I go to 40 weeks she could be in the 8lb. range. Yikes! All I could think about when they said that was maybe I should get the drugs this time. So we will see!

Emma would like to thank her Gammie for watching her for most of the day. Our appointments were spread out and I was a mess. Thankfully Gammie was home to watch Emma and Emma truly benefited since she got spoiled with fish crackers, cookies, cheerios, and no nap. She is one happy girl!

Fun on the 4th of July!

We took a break from our big girl room makeover to have some fun on the 4th of July. We kicked off the fun at my parent's house and then a block party in their neighborhood. After all that partying we headed over to the park to meet up with Kenzie to play and watch the fireworks. It was a great way to celebrate!

While waiting to go to the party, Emma decided to drive Papa's Jeep. This could be hers one day. =)

Before we could leave for the party we had to water the plants. This is one of Emma's favorite things to do with her Gammie.

At the block party there was a huge water slide. We did not know this was going to be there so we were not prepared with a swimsuit and swim diaper. Thankfully a neighbor let us borrow some of her boy's swim gear. Emma was having a blast and it was difficult getting her off.

At the park Kenzie wanted to share her lemon chill with Emma.

Playing soccer with daddy and Kenzie.

Me and Emma.

My parent's rode their bikes over and the girls just had to check them out.

Emma and me watching the fireworks. At first Emma was frightened but then she warmed up to the lights in the sky.

Andy wanted to capture some of the fireworks. I think if I was a UT fan this would be a really cool picture.

Emma's Hair

We always get lots of compliments on Emma's hair and people are often amazed at the length. I just wanted to capture the true length of her hair when it is not curly. I wonder if it is time to trim it?
