Garage Sale

On Saturday we woke up bring an early for our neighborhood garage sale. I was very excited to participate since we need to make room for baby. We had a bunch of furniture to sell and I am glad that some of it (I wish all of it) was sold. We were trying to sell some old bookcases but had a hard time. We eventually threw in an added bonus of a cute toddler but we still did not have any takers. Haha just kidding but Emma did like sitting in the bookcase.

On Saturday I also wanted to go and buy Emma a little ride in car. I was going to go to the store and buy one b/c they were on sale for $39.99 but then it dawned on me to drive around the neighborhood and see if anyone was selling one at their garage sale. Well sure enough I found one for $3!! I was so excited about the find and so was Emma. She cannot get enough of this car.

Let the Easter Egg Hunts Begin

Today we hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for our friends. I was so excited to fill eggs and try to hide them (kind of hard in our backyard) and then watch the kids find them. This was our second year to host the hunt and I hope we can keep the tradition going. I was trying to get Emma excited for it but I am not sure she was into it as much as me. Oh well we have a few more hunts coming up so we can say this was the warm up.

Please mom no more!

All of our friends! We missed Mya this year but were thrilled to have Madison join us.

Happy Day, Happy News!

Today we had our 16 week ultrasound appt. Our focus at this appt. was to learn about the heart and make sure everything looks good. Andy and I were very nervous through the whole thing. I was trying my best to stay calm and not freak out if I thought something on the ultrasound looked off. After the tech did her job and took all the pictures she needed, the doctor came in and told us that everything is looking good. He did not see any signs of a heart defect and does not feel that one will appear. Thank goodness!! I was on the verge of tears when he told us the wonderful news. He said he will see us again in 4 weeks and then after that we might be done with ultrasounds as long as everything looks good. It was such a relief to hear.

Now some of you are wondering about the gender. They were able to tell the gender but it is a secret. We have it written down and sealed in an envelop. We are still debating about when to open it and reveal the big news. Maybe this weekend. I know the waiting is hard.

Baby at 16 weeks. I am not very good with this scanner so sorry for the bad photo.

Me and baby at 15 weeks.

Baby's gender sealed shut. What do you think the gender is? Any predictions?

St. Patrick's Day Treasure Hunt

On Friday, one of our play groups hosted a treasure hunt for St. Patrick's Day. Emma loved searching and finding the goody bags. I think it was good practice for all the Easter Egg Hunts we have coming up.

Before the hunt started, Emma wanted to check out her friend's wagon. She could not figure out how to get out. It was too funny!!

Back to Emma

It has been awhile since I blogged about Emma. I must admit I have not been good about taking pictures lately. Sorry Emma!

Well basically I can sum up what Emma has been up to in one word, PARK. Everyday, all day that is what she asks for. The girl cannot get enough of it. I was surprised the other day when she told me she was all done with the park. Usually we are having to tell her it is time to leave. We love taking her whenever we can b/c it is a chance for her to be free and explore. The weather has been perfect and we need to take advantage of it before it becomes to warm.

For me I am just trying to get as much Emma and Mama time as I can before baby #2 comes. I just love spending time with my girl!!

What a great way to relax after a park adventure.

Where is baby?

So I promised I would post ultrasound pics of the baby but I am having issues with my scanner. I am not tech savvy and will have to wait until I remind myself to ask Andy for help. By the time he gets home I completely forget about my honey to do list I have for him. Maybe I should start writing things down.

Well we are in our 15th week and there is a chance we can find out the gender of baby #2 next Monday. Even if we are able to find out we are going to keep it private from ourselves and everyone else. We want to reveal it to ourselves when the time is right. This time around we are not focused on the gender. We truly just want a healthy baby. This pregnancy is difficult at times for me b/c I feel that someone is going to tell me something is wrong with our child. When that is all you know it is hard to think of anything else. So far there are not any signs that indicate something is wrong, which is wonderful. Starting next Monday they will begin to monitor the heart and we pray that all four chambers are established and the blood flow is normal.

Things for me have been pretty good. I have not been sick, which is a blessing but I do get extremely tired and battle horrible headaches. I had the headache issue with Emma and I was hoping it would not repeat itself. Oh well, there are worse things. All in all we are just thrilled to be having another baby. I am already in planning mode, which is something I just love. We are hoping by the end of this month to have our guest bedroom cleared out to create a new nursery. I feel like time is already flying and 40 weeks is going to be here before we know it!

Sorry no pics but hopefully soon!!

The Unmentioned Christmas Present

This past Christmas we were blessed with finding out that we are expecting baby number 2!! What a joy it was to find out. I planned on having Emma wear her big sister t-shirt while surprising Andy with the news but I just could not wait until she woke up from her nap. So instead I told Andy I wanted to take a picture of him in front of the Christmas tree. He was slightly confused but then I had him read Emma's shirt while taking the picture. As you can see he was very excited.

We decided on holding off in sharing the news with everyone since we were nervous about miscarriage. When we shared with our parents they were thrilled. Though Andy's dad's first response was oh no. I thought that was funny but I knew he did not mean it in the way it sounds. Everyone is excited for another baby!

I think Emma is even excited.

We are still sharing the news with many people and I ask that if you are reading this to not put anything on Facebook. Soon enough I will post something on there. I will also get some pics up of the baby and me. I just need to scan them into the computer. So stay tuned for baby blogging and of course cute Emma blogging!

My New Bike

Emma has been in love with tricycles for awhile. Every time she sees one in the neighborhood she has to try it out. We have been wanting to get her one but it has been difficult finding one that fits her since she is on the smaller side. Well thank you Kettler for making one that fits her perfectly. Now we just need to teach her how to pedal.

It's Never Too Late for a Valentine's Date

We have been making it a tradition to go the Melting Pot every year for Valentine's Day with our good friends Kristin and Geoff. Some years we can make the date happen closer to the actual day but since we have kids and a busy schedule it is not always easy. We had a great time getting away from everything and just laughing. We look forward to next year but hope there are more double dates before then!

Our awesome husbands. They are too cute!
