Just Being Cute

Emma is too cute for words!

This is her new favorite spot to sit, especially when it is bubble time.

Miss Cool in her sunglasses. Thanks Papa for fixing them!! (Emma had thrown her favorite pair out of the stroller and they got ran over. Thankfully my dad had some strong glue on hand to fix them.)

Baby Solomon at 20 Weeks

Well we are half way there (give or take a few days or weeks)! Baby is doing wonderfully and the heart looks perfect. It was a beautiful site to see the other day at the ultrasound. We are so blessed to be given a baby with a good heart. The baby's measurements are right on track and they even said she is slightly above average in weight. This was something we were not use to hearing. Usually we are hearing about how our child (Emma) is not even on the growth chart. Crazy!

Me and baby at 20 weeks.

Thumbs up mom and dad! Everything is great.

A beautiful profile pic.

Emma starting to get things ready for her sister. She has to test out all the old toys and make sure they work properly.

At 20 weeks I am doing great except for a bad cold that I caught. Otherwise everything is going as normal. I am still in my normal clothes, which is awesome. I think at 16 weeks with Emma I surrendered to maternity clothes. So this is something new and I like it. I just have not seen very cute maternity clothes lately. So if I can get away with my normal stuff I will, though I do not think it will last for much longer.

As for Emma we are gearing her up to move into a new room. We went to Pottery Barn Kids this weekend and ordered her big girl bedroom set. I am so excited for it but we have to wait awhile before we get it b/c it was on backorder. Oh well we have time. Now I need to pick out her bedding and room decor. I am so excited!! My parents are going to get her a personalized chair as well to go with her new room. Emma just has all kinds of fun stuff coming her way. I hope she likes it!

I think that is all that is going on with us for now. Hope you enjoyed the long post.

Thank You for Shopping at HEB

They only give these stickers out for large items purchased. I think I made a good purchase! I mean doesn't everyone want an adorable Emma?!

Petting Farm

Today we went to a petting farm with our neighborhood playgroup. The place was not very big but a good size to let the kids run around and explore. Emma was not very interested in the animals but more into the open fields.

Where are the animals?

Checking out the buttercups. I loved these flowers as a kid!

Emma's favorite thing was this tepee. She loved going in and out of it and hiding out in it.

Capital 10K

Today, Andy took to the streets and ran the Capital 10K. We are so proud of him and I am also jealous. Seeing all those runners makes me want to put on my running shoes and compete. Oh well, I have a good reason to sit it out this year. Anyways, Andy had a good run despite wet roads and an uncomfortable knee. Good job, Andy!!

Andy and Emma before the race. I don't think she was very happy to have her picture taken.

Emma and me getting ready to cheer on Andy.

The masses!

When one is bored what else is one to do but lick the fence. Poor Emma, she was a mess. Her pants got muddy for the stroller wheel and wet from sitting on the ground. I guess I should start carrying a change of clothes with me.

The finisher!

2 Years!

2 years ago today Emma underwent open heart surgery. It is hard to believe that it has already been two years! Today while we were eating breakfast together as a family I was thinking about how at breakfast time two years ago she was out of our arms and in the care of the doctors and nurses. I cannot say thank you enough to the wonderful people at Texas Children's. There is not a day that goes by that we do not thank our blessings. We love you Emma and are truly amazed by your strength and spirit. Thank you for being our little girl!!

Holding Emma one last time before we had to walk down to surgery. It was our last photo pre-surgery.

Emma immediately following surgery. Looking back at these photos brings back tons of emotions. It was very hard to resist holding her. We were thrilled after three days when they let us hold her again. She is such a warrior.

Emma one year post surgery. My happy, healthy baby!

Two years post surgery. Emma just continues to grow and become stronger. Her love melts my heart.

Emma and me on her surgery anniversary. Wow what a difference two years makes. I love my girl!!

Happy Easter!

We had a very busy Easter weekend this year. We started it off with an Easter Egg-Stravaganza at my parent's neighborhood country club. Emma enjoyed the choo-choo and the egg hunt but truly did not care for the Easter bunny. I think she was frightened of the fuzzy animal.

Riding the choo-choo with Gammie.

Hunting for eggs.

Easter day we went to my parent's house for food, Easter basket hunting, and celebrating my parent's 35th Wedding Anniversary.

Attempting a family photo. Emma had no interest in this. She just wanted all her new goodies.

Emma discovering her awesome new pink bubble blowing mower.

A basket has been found.

Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary to my parents. We enjoyed a lovely cake we had made just for the occasion.

Recently we have been cleaning out our guest bedroom to make room for baby. Well I came across some photos of Andy and me and these photos are the first ones we ever took together. We had taken a trip with some friends down to Big Bend for Easter. It was an amazing camping trip and I am so fond to have the wonderful memories. Andy and I had just started dating and it is hard to believe that in only 6 years we fell in love, got married, built a house, had a child, and are planning for baby #2. Life seems to happen so fast. I just want to cherish every moment.
