We surprised the girls today with a trip to go meet and ride Thomas. They were so excited and could not get enough of the train.

It was a rainy morning but that did not stop us from having fun.

39 Weeks

Today I had my 39 week appointment. There has been a little progress on baby's part but not too much. I am now between 2 & 2.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. The baby is still in the same position but she said that it is normal to not really drop when you are on your third kid. So we will just let the waiting game continue, which I am good with. She did say to just take it easy from here on out. Can someone tell my kids that?!

A New Ride

When we found out we were pregnant our great debate about what to do about my car surfaced. My car has a third row but it is impossible to get to and there is no leg room. It is rare that we ever use it. We did tons of research on car seats that fit three across and looked at some new SUVs. In the car department, nothing was winning us over and we want something to wow us if we are going to spend the money. We decided to just go ahead and get a new car seat for Emma that would fit in the middle (thanks YaYa and Grandpa). Now all three can fit and Emma just loves her new red car seat.

Just when we thought we would not be buying a new car, well guess who ended up getting a new one?! That's right, Andy got to upgrade to a new car. His old car was near the end and the cost to repair it was ridiculous. He loves his new ride (a Volvo S60 if you are wondering) and is very protective of it (so not in his nature). I guess when you have been part of my family long enough you learn how to be obsessed with car care.

Afternoon Entertainment

With Emma on a later school schedule this year, we have had to make some adjustments to our nap/rest time schedules. Abby is used to going down by 1:30 and I am used to getting a rest myself starting at that time. Now that we have to wait until 2, Abby and I are finding ourselves having a hard time staying energized. Good thing I can find some low key activity ideas on the internet to keep us awake and happy.

38 Weeks

I went in for my 38 week appointment today and there really is nothing to report. The baby is hanging out in the same spot and the doctor said that I am very close to being 2 cm dilated. Sounds good to me. My October request just might come true. 

I am getting excited to meet this little one. I am so curious to know what this baby will look like. Emma and Abby look completely different, so it will be fun to see what mix this baby will get.

Flying High

On this cold, rainy weekend it is nice to remember the warm weather pool days. I must say I am not missing the heat but I do miss the joy the pool brought the kids.

37 Weeks

Today I had my 37 week appointment. I really feel like I have grown since last week. The doctor said I have dropped and that the baby is in the -2 station, 50% effaced, and I am 1.5 cm dilated.  My body is getting ready for labor. Very exciting! Though, she does not expect me to come before my next appointment. I told her that I want to be seeing her for a few more weeks. It is funny how we all have our request for when this baby should come. I think all of us would prefer the weekend so that it is easier on my parents to take the kids. Andy and I would prefer something in the daytime b/c having the first 2 kiddos at 5 am makes for a tiring day. And I of course would love for this baby to wait until October. I think all of those are simple requests. =)

My Little Superheroes

I am typically one that does not care for the superhero apparel (for girls) but I saw these cute girly shirts and could not resist. I knew Andy would just love them because he grew up reading the comics and watching the movies.

The real story behind Abby's bump is that she and another kid ran straight into each other at the Y. I think the boy walked away unscathed but not Abby.

A Party Fit for a Lady

Abby is currently obsessed with Lady and the Tramp, so for her birthday we thought it would make a great theme. She was so excited for her family party and play date party.

We cooked up some spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and ate by candlelight.

We had a separate party with a few friends. Andy made these cute little paper doggies for the decorations. It took him 3 hours to make these. Someone sure loves his little lady.

I completely forgot to take pictures during the party and only got one at the end. The kids loved playing in the backyard, eating a cookie cake, and running like crazy with the balloons. An ideal day for a toddler. Thanks Elle, Dawson, and Meg for helping Abby celebrate. She loved it!

36 Weeks

On Thursday I had my 36 week appointment. Nothing much to report, which is nice. The baby is growing well and still has plenty of room to drop. I am one centimeter dilated but that means nothing to me. I am kind of hoping this baby stays put until October but it is not in my control. The question I keep getting from people is "do you think it is a boy or a girl?" I truly have no inkling but it is fun to hear everyone else's guesses. We will soon know!

Happy 2nd Birthday Abigail Marian

Happy Birthday to our little lady, Abby! Time flies when you are having fun. This lady is so full of life and her curiosity in life keeps her moving. Her want for independence and to be a big girl makes me want to slow things down a bit. She keeps us on our toes.

Abigail at 2:

-Is a pretty easy going kid. Does a great job going with the flow and following directions.

-Willing to try new foods but loves her staples like, pp&j, pasta, strawberries, chicken nuggets, grapes, and pizza. And has an obsession with ketchup.

-Can sing the alphabet.

-Counts from 1-10 and often attempts to make it to 20.

-Knows most of her colors.

-Loves to read and be read to.

-Obsessed with her cat and has to take it everywhere.

-Into Lady and the Tramp, Ariel, Beauty and the Beast, Thomas, Angelina Ballerina, and Lightning McQueen. Disney has her wrapped around their figure.

-Loves to follow Emma's lead and be with Emma.

-Enjoys dancing and having dance parties.

-Has good manners by saying please and thank you and her latest, please excuse me.

-Full of sunshine!
