Monday, Fun Day!!

Yesterday we had a fun filled day hanging out with my longtime friend, Sarah and my lovely sister-in-law, Amy. Both were in town briefly and we were thankful to be able to spend time with each of them. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of Emma with each of them but I did capture some of Emma showing her true girly side. She was able to express herself when Amy and I took her to Book People downtown. If you have never taken your child there I highly recommend it. Lots of free fun!

First the ball is small...

then it gets huge!

Emma loved flopping around in the beanbags.

Let the girly fun begin! (It was hard capturing her b/c she was running around nonstop. So if she looks unhappy that is not the case. This kid was in love with her surroundings!)

Emma loved wearing this tutu. She was discovering her inner princess.

This is the correct way to wear sunglasses...

but this is the cool way to wear them.

A star is born! Emma loved running around in their little amphitheatre.

The tutu was such a hit that Emma got her very first one yesterday. Now she can wear it whenever she wants.

Let the Halloween Fun Begin!

Yesterday Emma got all dressed up in her Halloween outfit to go and celebrate her friend Annie's 2nd birthday. We had a great time playing at the park in our costumes and eating very yummy cupcakes!

Emma's costume this year came from her godparents (my aunt and uncle) in Minnesota. My uncle is a HUGE Vikings fan and loves to send us Viking gear. So this year we are putting his purchases to good use!

I think she truly enjoys her costume this year.

Rah Rah!!

It was cold at the beginning of the party so I was thankful that my uncle sent use a jacket and pants to match. Oh where would we be without all the accessories?!

Annie, the birthday girl! (I had to get this picture from a friends blog. It was difficult taking pics b/c Emma was wanting to run in the mud.)

All of Annie's buddies celebrating her special day!

Zilker Fun

Since the weather has been so nice we have been doing whatever we can to be outside. We have never taken Emma to play at Zilker park and ride the train so we decided to check it out. Emma had a blast running around and checking everything out and the train ride was a great way to relax after all the running.

Emma driving the Fire Engine.

Enjoying the music.

On the train. Emma loved making the choo choo sign. Oh and don't worry Andy did not fall of this ride. =)

Our Little Helper

One of Emma's favorite things right now is to help take the dishes out of the dishwasher as we are putting them away. She waits patiently until you ask her to take out the next plate or bowl and then she will hand it to you. She will even put an item (something light and nonbreakable) away for you if it goes in a lower cabinet. I hope this enjoyment of wanting to help never ends.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we decided to try out a pumpkin patch in Marble Falls. Sweet Berry Farms is known for their strawberries in the spring and summer time but they also have a fabulous pumpkin patch. It was the perfect weather for the pumpkin patch because it actually felt like fall. We loved putting on our jackets and being outside in the fresh air. Emma absolutely fell in love with this place. She enjoyed all the space to run, the pumpkins to knock on, and flowers to pick. All in all it was a great trip and I am glad we made the drive.

Oh and one more thing about the trip. I think the funniest part (I did not catch it on camera) was when we took a hayride Andy fell off! That's right folks Andy fell off the wagon. I could not stop laughing, I mean I am still laughing as I am writing this. Poor Andy! He is ok and it was not his fault. The tractor got stuck in some mud as we were going up hill and when the tractor started moving again it jerked causing everyone to fall into their neighbor and since Andy was on the end he fell off. Thankfully I was sitting across from him and got to watch the whole thing happen. Oh it was so funny!!

A Better Day

I am happy to report that Emma had a good day at school today! Thank goodness! I was really starting to question the idea of her being in school. I was even looking into other activities to fill the void of no school. Andy on the other hand, has more patients than me and kept encouraging me to hang in there. So hopefully it will keep getting better.
The thing that helped today was her having some of her own favorite toys from home. The teacher said she played with them for a little in the beginning and then started showing interest in other activities. I am very happy it worked, especially considering that before I even had her out of the car this morning she was already crying. We will just keep hoping for the best for our sweet little Emma.

Welcome Allison Kate!

Our good friends Kristin and Geoff welcomed their first baby last Tuesday, Miss Allison Kate! We are so thrilled for them.
Today Emma and I went to visit little Allison Kate and she is a cutie!! I was so excited to meet her and hold her. She is such a beautiful little girl who has been blessed with two amazing parents.

Andy Rocks!!

Over the weekend I came down with some horrible bug (I think it was food poisoning) that caused me to be completely out of commission as a mom and wife for the majority of the weekend. Andy, the wonderful husband he is, stepped right up to the plate and took over mommy and daddy duties. So this is a blog post to thank him for all of his hard work this weekend. It is just one of the many reasons I married this wonderful man. He will put his needs on the back burner for a happy wife and child. Thank you my dear one!!

Andy a.k.a the greatest husband and father!!
