Who Needs a Fancy Sprinkler Park
The other day we turned on our sprinkler system at night to try and help our poor grass and Emma decided to make a break for it and enjoy some fun for herself.

Becoming a Big Girl
Emma had two new big girl things happen recently. The first being her car seat has been turned around to face the front. Yippee!! She has been ready for awhile but since she was not meeting the weight requirement we have been putting it off. Now she is facing the front and enjoying a whole new view!

The second thing that happen is she had her first dental appointment. It went relatively smoothly, meaning Emma did not care for someone brushing her teeth. We were in and out in like 30 minutes. It was great. I also love Emma's dentist. She is amazing and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her and her practice if anyone needs a pediatric dentist.

Sorry no picture of the dentist examining her. I had to hold her in my lap while the dentist did the exam, so no free hand to take a picture.

Waco Getaway
This weekend we headed north to Waco to visit our good friends Kristin and Jeff and their little girl Clara Beth. We met these wonderful friends when our little girls had open heart surgery. It was hard imagining that at one point these two girls laid side by side in ICU together and now they are running around together. Amazing where life takes you.
As much as I pray that no one else ever has to experience what we experienced, it is nice knowing that we can call on each other when things get hard. They know exactly what we went through and still go through and vice versa. We were even swapping stories over dinner about how we use to feed our girls through feeding tubes and how we did not enjoy all that went into it, but now our girls eat like champs!! Much thanks to all that helped us get to where we are!

Taking Clara Beth for a spin in her stroller.

Rocking with daddy on the front porch. What a simple pleasure in life.

Clara Beth is wondering if they both fit in this.

Taking an afternoon dip.

Emma's turn to have a ride. Thanks for sharing your fancy red car, Clara Beth!

Emma meeting a horse for the first time.

A city boy CAN feed the country animals!!

Me want cookie!!

Emma took her first boat ride. She enjoyed everything but the life vest.

Emma and me on the boat. We were a little wind blown by the end.

A Week in Review
We have been so busy this week that I have not had time to post anything. So we are going to sum the whole week up in one post. Enjoy!

Tuesday would have been my grandma's b-day and since this was our first year without her we headed to McDonald's to celebrate her special day. My grandma use to go to church every morning and then head to McDonalds with her ladies to have a biscuit and coffee. Instead of a biscuit, Emma and Annie were enjoying some cheerios. Thanks Annie, Kenzie, and Mya (and of course their beautiful moms!) for coming out to celebrate my grandma's b-day!

On Wednesday we tried out a new place with Mya and Kenzie. It is an indoor bounce house. Emma had a hard time figuring out how to walk in the bounce houses. The verdict is still out on whether or not she liked this place.

Watch out the police are going to get you!

On Thursday we were meeting up with my good pal Kristin S. to go shopping. Before we met up with her we tried a new to us park downtown so Emma could burn off some energy before we shopped. She loved this park b/c there were things for her to do. I look forward to taking her back!

On Friday night we had our monthly family happy hour at a neighbor's house. They set up some water toys for the kiddos in the backyard. Emma loved the slip n' slide.

Emma gearing up for the big race.

Bright and early Saturday, my mom and I ran the Balance 5K which supports the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. This was our first year to do the race and we plan on making it an annual tradition. We did it in memory of my grandmother who fought the fight against ovarian cancer for over four year.

After the race we needed to cool down at the sprinkler park.

Then to finish it all off we hosted a couple's baby shower for Kristin and Geoff. We are so excited for them and can't wait to meet Allison Kate!!

A Great Saturday
Over the weekend we headed downtown to go for a run around the lake and then headed over to the sprinkler park to cool off. It makes me wish that I lived closer to downtown. My husband loves the burbs too much to give it all up and move to a condo downtown. I try to tell him that there would be zero yard work to do. I think that is a great selling point!

Cooling off in the water.

Hey, where did the water go? Maybe if I knock it will come back!

Playing ball with daddy.

After all that exercise Emma needed to carb up on some pizza. She ate FOUR slices plus some chicken. She could not get enough. Now if only I could get her to do that with fruit and veggies!

We are going private
I have decided to make the blog super private, which means only we can decide who can read it. If you are a loyal fan and want to be on the list of people who can view the blog then you must let me know. Leave a comment with your e-mail address or e-mail me directly and then you will be on the list. I will leave the blog open for a little while and once it is private I will send out an e-mail to you letting you know how to view the blog. I have never done this before so please be patient as we figure it out. I do think once I make it private you will have to sign in, so sorry in advance for the extra step.
We hope that many of you will stay interested but if not then thanks for enjoying the blog.
