My Little Superheroes

I am typically one that does not care for the superhero apparel (for girls) but I saw these cute girly shirts and could not resist. I knew Andy would just love them because he grew up reading the comics and watching the movies.

My little Spidey and Batgirl.

Working on their superhero facial expressions.

They even created a high intensity training course.

Even with training, Spidey can still get bumps and bruises.
The real story behind Abby's bump is that she and another kid ran straight into each other at the Y. I think the boy walked away unscathed but not Abby.

A Party Fit for a Lady

Abby is currently obsessed with Lady and the Tramp, so for her birthday we thought it would make a great theme. She was so excited for her family party and play date party.

We cooked up some spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and ate by candlelight.

Look at that pasta face.

The birthday girl getting ready for presents.

We lost her in the gift bag.

Her new favorite toy. Lady goes everywhere and is very loved.

Sweet kisses.

Andy thought both girls should have a Lady.

The cake. So cute!

I think she likes it.

Blowing out the candles.

A family pic.

We had a separate party with a few friends. Andy made these cute little paper doggies for the decorations. It took him 3 hours to make these. Someone sure loves his little lady.

Andy's decorating creation.

I completely forgot to take pictures during the party and only got one at the end. The kids loved playing in the backyard, eating a cookie cake, and running like crazy with the balloons. An ideal day for a toddler. Thanks Elle, Dawson, and Meg for helping Abby celebrate. She loved it!

36 Weeks

On Thursday I had my 36 week appointment. Nothing much to report, which is nice. The baby is growing well and still has plenty of room to drop. I am one centimeter dilated but that means nothing to me. I am kind of hoping this baby stays put until October but it is not in my control. The question I keep getting from people is "do you think it is a boy or a girl?" I truly have no inkling but it is fun to hear everyone else's guesses. We will soon know!

The 36 week bump.

Happy 2nd Birthday Abigail Marian

Happy Birthday to our little lady, Abby! Time flies when you are having fun. This lady is so full of life and her curiosity in life keeps her moving. Her want for independence and to be a big girl makes me want to slow things down a bit. She keeps us on our toes.

Her stats:

Height: 35 inches (85%)
Weight: 26 lbs. 13 oz. (50%)
Head Cir. 49 cm (80%)

Abigail at 2:

-Is a pretty easy going kid. Does a great job going with the flow and following directions.
-Willing to try new foods but loves her staples like, pp&j, pasta, strawberries, chicken nuggets, grapes, and pizza. And has an obsession with ketchup.
-Can sing the alphabet.
-Counts from 1-10 and often attempts to make it to 20.
-Knows most of her colors.
-Loves to read and be read to.
-Obsessed with her cat and has to take it everywhere.
-Into Lady and the Tramp, Ariel, Beauty and the Beast, Thomas, Angelina Ballerina, and Lightning McQueen. Disney has her wrapped around their figure.
-Loves to follow Emma's lead and be with Emma.
-Enjoys dancing and having dance parties.
-Has good manners by saying please and thank you and her latest, please excuse me.
-Full of sunshine!

I attempted a chair picture since we have been doing it since she was a baby. This is the best I got. She wanted nothing to do with it.

Her telling me she was done.

The "I'm serious face."

But big smiles on the way to school!

Happy Birthday Abby!! We love you to pieces and are so blessed to have you as our daughter. You bring us great joy and happiness. Life is so fun with you in it!

Abby's First Day of School

Abby had her first day of school today. We had been talking about it for days and she was very excited to go. She did a great job and did not cry at all. The teachers were very impressed at how good of a kid she is. It was fun to hear since we already know that.

The day before her first day I revealed her backpack to her. I had been hiding it b/c I did not want it to get dirty before school started. Once she saw it she did not want to take it off. It is her new favorite bag and how could it not be.

Giving her new bag a test run.

Emma wanted to be part of the fun, too.

My adorable school girls.

The morning of her first day. Can't believe she is about to be 2. So grown up!

At school and very distracted by all the people.

Walking to class.

Big sister got to help take her.

My little collage.

I am so proud of Abby and she just had the greatest time. Hope the whole year goes well for her. I love that she has the same teachers that Emma had when she went there. It makes a huge difference in my comfort level. I was sad to not have my little buddy today but I did enjoy some quiet time.

Butler Park

On Saturday we took the girls down to Butler Park to play in the fountain. Emma has always loved this place and I just knew she was going to have a blast. I was worried about Abby b/c she does not care for sprinkler parks. In the end, Abby had mixed reviews about the place. She enjoyed the outskirts of the fountain.

Emma going right in for the fun.

Thinking about it.

Running away from the water.

Having her friend Elle there helped her get slightly wet.

Running under the water was very exciting.

Playing some soccer to help dry off.
