Disneyland: Day 2, California Adventure Park

The second day in Disneyland we went to California Adventure Park. The girls were very excited to meet all the princesses over in Ariel's Grotto at a very special breakfast. That morning we got the girl's all dressed up in their princess costumes: Emma was dressed as Ariel and Abby was dressed as Rapunzel.

Making our way to Ariel's Grotto.
Disneyland isn't just for the kids!
Princess Abby is ready for her royal breakfast.
Emma and Abby's favorite princess is Ariel.
We got each of the characters we saw at the park to
sign autograph books for the girls.
Emma was looking forward to meeting Ariel for weeks.
This was her big moment, and it was great to see how
happy she was.
The next princess to meet was Cinderella.
Each time a new princess was announced Emma
would jump out of her seat and run up to them,
since we were lucky enough to be seated at the
first table for them to visit.
A hug from Sleeping Beauty.
Emma knows her special name is Princess Aurora.
Next we met Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
Abby wanted to meet her too but then wasn't so sure.
The last princess we met was Snow White.
After our special breakfast we went outside to
check out the rest of the park.
Rapunzel is trapped again! Oh no.
Actually she's just checking out the fish in the stream.
This section of the park was an outdoor
nature area with fun tree slides, nets to climb in,
rope swings, and bridges over streams.
Emma had already gone on the horse carousel the day before,
but as soon as she heard they had a sea creatures carousel we had
to make our way there.
Emma giving a hug to Lightning McQueen!
Emma is obsessed with the movie Cars, so
seeing Lightning McQueen and Mater was
very cool. They are in the process of building
a whole new section of California Adventure Park dedicated
to Cars, but it won't be ready until summertime.
Emma and Andy on the bumper cars.
Snuggling on a ride.
Emma was thrilled with Disneyland.
Here is a group shot of the family with Rapunzel.
That night we had tickets to "World of Color", which is a special
event that takes place in Ariel's Grotto at night. It is a laser light
show where they have colors, music, images of Disney cartoons projected
on the water, and they even had jets of fire shooting up into the air at times.
Unfortunately, "World of Color" doesn't begin until 8:15pm PST, which is
10:15pm our time. Emma fell asleep in the stroller at 7:30, and Abby lasted
until 7:45, but we were already in place to watch the show so we stayed.

Blogging Hiccup

Sorry I have not been blogging about the rest of our trip. Emma has been running a fever off and on since Saturday. She has also developed a horrible cough and an ear infection. The doctor ran a bunch of test to make sure she did not have strep, pneumonia, or an UTI. She has stopped eating and lost a pound since January. Life has been a little stressful and chaotic but we will get back to normal soon. Everyone in the house is feeling under the weather and I do not have enough energy at night to sort through all our Disney pictures and blog. I tried to get Andy to do it but he is working every night because things at work are crazy. So hopefully this weekend we can get all caught up and back on track.

Disneyland: First Day in the Park

Our first day in the park was fabulous. My friend Elizabeth came down for the day and the girls had a blast spending time with her. We filled our day with many rides and good memories.

On our way to the park from the hotel.
Me and Abby with the park in the background.
Me and the girls on the train ride. This was Emma's first request for rides.
After the train ride we saw Minnie Mouse. Emma was super excited to meet her and get her autograph. Abby was not to sure about all the characters.
Elizabeth got the girls super adorable Minnie hats.
Family pic with Sleeping Beauty's castle in the background.
One of Emma's favorite rides was the carousel.
Her other favorite ride was Dumbo. She loved riding it with Elizabeth.

In line for the Mr. Toad ride.
Emma checking out Mickey's piano.
Liz and Abby in Mickey's house.
Group shot with Mickey.
Emma in front of Minnie's house.
Another meeting with Minnie.
Later we took a ride on the river boat.
They had live music playing and the girl's decided to do some dancing.

Another carousel ride.

Some worn out ladies.
It was a super fun day in the park. Stay tune for breakfast with the princesses and California Adventure Park.

Disneyland!

We just got back from our Disney vacation. We all had a blast at the park. The kids were on cloud 9 the whole time and enjoyed many of the rides and meeting some Disney characters. I will be blogging about each day separately so I will start with our arrival.

Before we headed out, I made a count down chart. Each day the girls took down one Mickey.

On the Disney bus from the airport. The kids were super excited.
Emma in a tea cup chair in the lobby of the hotel.
Goofy was out and about meeting new hotel guests. Emma was super excited. Abby refused to meet him.
On the day of our arrival we ate at a pizza place in Downtown Disney. Emma pulled up a seat to watch the pizza making action.
For dinner, we met up with Amy and Alonso. It was so nice spending time with them. Only wish we had more time but we can't wait to see them this summer after their baby arrives.
The kids quickly passed out for the night. They needed their beauty rest for tons of excitement coming their way.
Stay tune for our first day in the park.

Discovering the Y

Abby and I go to the Y about three to four times a week. We typically stick to our routine of me dropping her at daycare and then going and working out. Well, one day we decided to go look at the geese and ducks that are on site. Then, later in the day when I was wondering what to do with the girls in the afternoon I thought lets go back to the Y and explore the trail and look at more geese and ducks. It was a very fun adventure and the girls absolutely loved it. Abby was obsessed with the ducks and geese. I loved that the adventure filled their curiosity and wore them out.

Checking out the ducks.

We discovered a little waterfall at the start of the trail.

Crossing the bridge.

Checking out the water.
Along the path we found animal prints. The kids loved checking them out.

Definitely a great place to keep in mind when looking for an adventure.
